Mist sits over the lower pond most mornings and burns off by nine. The oak allée holds its shade well past noon, which is where you'll find most of the household by early afternoon in summer. Herons work the ponds at dusk; deer cross the woodland paths at dawn, unbothered by a house full of guests.
None of the 34 hectares are fenced off from you. The kitchen garden supplies whatever's in season — you're welcome to pick it yourself. The formal parterres near the château give way, deliberately, to wildflower meadow the further you walk from the house.
